UBO World Super Middleweight
champion Kali Jacobus will make
the first defence of his title
on May 1st at the Omnisport
Stadium in Port-Vila, Vanuatu.
Jacobus won the title in October
of last year, when he stopped
former WBC International
champion Plaisakda Singwancha of
Thailand in two rounds in front
of 7500 spectators outdoors at
Port-Vila´s Parliament Park.
Due to cyclone season it is not
possible for the promoter Wesley
Rasu to do another open-air
event, so the Omnisport Stadium
will without a doubt sell out
quickly. Jacobus is a huge
fan-favourite in his home
country, and his fights draw
massive attention.
UBO Oceania Commissioner
Reginald Leca informs that
negotiations with a few
preferred big-name-opponents
broke down recently, and while
Rasu was hopeful to the end he
is now working on finalizing
with a suitable substitute, and
aims to be able to name the
adversary for Jacobus soon. |
