Three new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Asia) champions were crowned on Saturday, October 25, at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Billed as Global Boxing Series and streamed world-wide on Pay-Per-View by TrillerTV+, the event was promoted by FCC Promotion, Highland Boxing Promotions and Marine Pro Boxing Promotions.

In a clash of Thai rivals, Aekkaphob Auraiwan won the vacant UBO Continental (Asia) Heavyweight title by defeating Weerapat Kamlangway by first round stoppage.

It was tit-for-tat with both boxers throwing hard punches until Auraiwan floored Kamlangwai with a huge right hand.

Kamlangwai did well to get up and beat the count, but was sent down twice more with uppercuts, forcing referee Kris Sanyadej to wave it off.

Auraiwan, a former Asian Boxing Federation champion at Cruiserweight, took his professional record to 11-4-1 (9). Kamlangway drops to 8-6 (5).

In a slugfest, tough Bangkok-based Iranian Mahdi Sarbaz won the vacant UBO Continental (Asia) Super Welterweight title with an impressive performance against Elmo “Money Punch” Traya, from Mandaue City, Philippines.

Underdog Sarbaz showed from the start that he had come to win, and quickly turned the fight into a shoot-out. Both men gave as good as they got in the early stages, putting on an excellent fight for the fans.

From round three Sarbaz started to look like the stronger man, landing the heavier shots as Traya did his best to retaliate but often found himself missing.

In round five southpaw Sarbaz was really in his groove, as he continuously landed his straight left hand and began to make a real dent in Traya.

Traya tried to find a way back but likely emptied his tank in the process, and as the bell sounded to start round six he retired on his stool, making Sarbaz the new UBO champion by technical knockout.

Sarbaz improved his professional record to a deceiving 6-4 (5), while Traya, who won the Asian Boxing Federation title at Middleweight last August, falls to 17-6 (10).

Another Filipino, Reymond “Robocob” Yanong, was more successful as he captured the vacant UBO Continental (Asia) title at Welterweight, stopping local man Alphisit Nulae in round five of an all out war.

Yanong came out like a man on a mission, clearly trying to get an early stoppage, but Nulae had other plans and fought back well, having his own success.

It was a clash of two determined boxers, which made it very exciting. Nulae had a strong round two, giving Yanong some trouble as he forced him on the ropes while he unloaded.

Round three was back and forth action with almost only power-punches thrown, and the fourth was more of the same.

Nulae was mainly head-hunting, while Yanong switched well between head and body and knocked Nulae down heavy with a left-right combination just before the bell sounded to end the round.

Nulae made it to his feet and beat the count of referee Worawuth Duankhao, and came out for round five only to be floored again by a body-shot.

Again he got up, but when Yanong followed up with a flurry and send him down a third time the fight was stopped.

Yanong, who like his compatriot Traya was coming off winning Asian Boxing Federation honours, is now 17-10-1 (12).

Having defeated unbeaten British boxer Zeeshan Ali Moughal in his most recent outing, Nulae was brought back down to earth as he goes to a deceiving 5-7 (3).
