On a massive
event broadcast live world-wide by DAZN,
Bisutti was
originally scheduled to face John Napari, but
when the Ghanaian had visa issues and couldn't
travel, WBC Asian Continental Cruiserweight
champion Panya Chomphoophuang stepped in on
short notice.
And
Chomphoophuang
had not just
come to pick up a pay-day, as he gave the
favourite plenty to think about from the start,
landing big over-hand rights as Bisutti
relentlessly marched forward in pursuit of
landing his own big shots.
The pressure
and power-shots of Bisutti was the big
difference in the fight, but despite starting to
fatigue midway through,
Chomphoophuang
never stopped
trying. However, after several warnings he was
deducted a point for holding and spinning
Bisutti
in round
eight.

The second half
of the fight belonged to Bisutti, who boxed
disciplined as he tried to ware down his game
opponent, mixing his punches to body and head. As
the fight reached the championship rounds,
Chomphoophuang
was more or less
ion survival-mode, but he still managed to be
dangerous.
After twelve
competitive rounds of boxing, judges Arucha
Ramanthongu and Kris Sanyadej both scored it
114-113 for Bisutti, with the point deducted being
the difference,
and
judge Phakhaphon Songmani had it wider at 118-109.
The two close
scores appeared too close, while the third score
appeared harsh on
Chomphoophuang,
but the right
man won.
After winning
WBC, WBA, IBF,
WBO,
ABF and UBO
regional titles, Bisutti, now 14-1 (12), has now
taken the
last
step to world champion status. And the mission was
completed in just over two years since his pro
debut in June of 2023!
Chomphoophuang,
who drops to a
very misleading 23-17-1 (13), having won his WBC
title in his most recent bout last April, deserves
all the credit in the world for his performance,
giving his all on such short notice.
