Undefeated power-punching South Korean Yoo Sub Shin won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title on Saturday, August 16, in La Estrella, Colombia.

Shin (28), fighting out of San Antonio, Texas, put on a flawless performance as he stopped experienced Colombian Emilio “El Tornado” Julio in the second round.

After a relatively quiet first round, controlled by Shin, Julio tried to press the action in round two, but it turned out to be his downfall.

Shin effortlessly countered with hooks and uppercuts, flooring Julio and prompting referee Mary Luz to call a halt to the bout.

Having prepared for the fight working and sparring with Mexican legend Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Shin was sharp and spiteful, and clearly had no intentions of wasting any time.

A former South Korean national champion and WBC regional titlist, Shin is now a perfect 9-0 (9) since turning pro in 2022. Julio falls to 33-21-2 (25).

The fight was promoted by Sergio Andrade.
