The
pair had fought to a draw in July of 2016 in
Quebec City, Canada, and both relished the
opportunity to finally settle the score
at the Live
Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland.
But
it was Aleem, a former UBO Continental (North
America) Super Middleweight champion, who proved
the better man, as he was sharp and more active
from the start, often pushing Nicholson back and
winning most of the rounds with his
combinations.
Nicholson, who
has gone the distance with world class foes
Steve Rolls, Edgar Berlanga and Demetrius
Andrade, could not keep Aleem at bay, but was
dangerous with counter-shots through-out.

In round nine
Aleem forced Nicholson on the back-foot again and
anded a left uppercut, over-hand right combination
which hurt Nicholson and sent him down. Nicholson
tried to stand up, but quickly sat down again as
the referee waved it off.
It was a
statement performance from Aleem, who took his
professional record to 22-3-3 (13). Nicholson,
a former WBC
regional titlist,
drops to 27-7-1 (23).
