At
the Arena Pavillon Del Norte in Saltillo,
Coahuila, Mexico, Santoscoy faced
experienced
compatriot and former world title-challenger,
Kandy “La
Rubia”
Sandoval, who
had come to fight her chance.
It
was back and forth action from start to finish,
but the local boxer, Santoscoy, did just a
little better in most rounds.
After
eight entertaining rounds of boxing one judge
had the fight even at 76-76, while two judges
scored it 76-73 and 79-73, making it a Majority
Decision victory for Santoscoy.

A former
Mexico national and WBC regional titlist at
Flyweight, the new UBO International Bantamweight
champion improved her deceiving professional
record to 11-9 (7).
Sandoval,
who lost a decision to Yazmin Rivas for the WBC
world Bantamweight title in 2015, drops to 10-22
(2), numbers which also doesn't do her abilities
justice.
