UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Bekman Soilybayev put on a very impressive and convincing performance to win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Super Featherweight title on Sunday, February 23 at the Halyk Arena in Aktau, Kazakhstan.

In the opposite corner was undefeated Abeid Zugo, who was coming off a string of significant victories and was expected to present the local man with a very tough challenge.

But the 28-year-old Tanzanian never got a chance to find any kind of momentum in the fight, and Soilybayev was very effective with his work to both body and head.

In round four he found the right punches to end the fight, wearing Zugo down with body-punches before finishing him with a solid left hook to the head.

A former WBC, NABA and WBA regional champion, Soilybayev takes his professional record to 20-1 (11) after eight straight victories.

Entering the bout coming off victories over two former world champions, Simpiwe Vetyeka and Nkosinathi Joyi, Zugo loses for the first time in the paid ranks and drops to 15-1 (13).

Televised live by QazSport, the fight headlined a show promoted by Adal Promotions and Tunal Academy, in association with R12 Boxing.
